Pros: When it works, it's a great product If you have a laptop and you want 4 extra 2.0 usb port this might be the one you want to get
Cons: I don't know if this is my laptop's problem or the usb hub's problem. Sometimes my laptop doesn't recognize my usb. I have to keep pull it out and plug it back in again to make it work. If I get rid of usb and plug it in direct, it works just fine. I am guessing this is issue with usb hub.
Summary: Had a couple of these for several months and still working OK. When you think about it though there really isn't anything to go wrong in the innards of these things so why should they ever fail?
Pros: Works as they should. No problems so far. Loose 1 port then gain 4=net gain of 3.
Cons: Dongle cord is really, really short. Should have easily been an inch or so longer.
Summary: The three ports on the iogear hub really should be further apart. There seems to be plenty of room on the hub to have spread apart those ports. Upon contacting iogear chat they were puzzled at the problem I was experiencing and were gracious enough to offer to start the RMA process but considering I can work around the problem I declined. To their credit they were gracious and did try to help.
Pros: Nice look, cord storage and indicator light feature. Have used one of these older units for years now with no problems.
Cons: My previous hub like this one was a GUH285 model. This is a GUH285W6. Neither hub is listed on the iogear web site. My first, older, hub worked just fine with all devices. This later, W6 model, wouldn't see my Logitech Track Ball mouse on the end port or the first port (the furthest from the indicator light). All ports worked fine with other devices, mice, thumb drives etc. Contacted iogear and they had no clue what was going on. This is happening on an XP SP3 machine...
