Missing Rack Ears

Jerry F., Newegg
24 July 2014
  • Summary: Called Newegg. Sent to vendor - Flytec Computers. Called Flytec. Have been trading emails for 3 weeks. Very polite people, but so far no results. They checked their boxes in inventory. None of their current stock has ears. STILL WAITING........
  • Pros: Have used this model in the past successfully.
  • Cons: Arrived without rack mount ears, even though the website listed them and it is called a rack mount switch.

Well maybe...

Craig A., Newegg
10 February 2014
  • Summary: HP, but -not- a ProCurve which is a different class of switch. (aka Cisco (by Linksys) as opposed to a true Cisco)
  • Pros: Standard "web-managed" switch. Standard options. Works as described. Regular "Web" or "Smart" management features - VLANs, etc.
  • Cons: -NOT- a true L2 "Managed" switch as described in the heading.

Actually a relabeled 3Com Baseline Plus Switch 2900G - 28 port

Mel Beckman, Amazon
3 December 2013
  • Summary: HP acquired 3Com last year and they have relabeled the 3Com Baseline Plus Switch 2900G - 28 port as the HP V1910G-24. It is a very capable switch, with excellent VLAN support, full SNMPv3, and some very handy built-in physical cable test capabilities.

Great home/smb switch

2 December 2013
  • Summary: I'm a network engineer with a background in Cisco, Avaya, Aerohive and MikroTik gear. I'm in love with this HP (Rebranded H3C) stuff. Most small to medium sized networks don't need fancy features on edge switches. It's a no-brainer in my book to pick up a pile of these things.

Not for "pro-sumer" market.

California Cycleworks, Amazon
2 December 2013
  • Summary: I bought this to replace a Dell 2716 Power Connect, which has worked great for 7+ years. The FIRST thing you need to do when receiving this is get the serial console working and execute the "initialize" command.

nice access switch

Augenauf, Amazon
29 November 2013
  • Summary: We actually replaced all of our Cisco 2940 with Hp V1910 switches. As already told these ones are relabeled 3com 2900 series switches. 1 of the delivered of about 35 switches was actually DOA. One hint to all of you, always update all of your devices with the latest firmware when arrived.

Fantastic for SMB, if you have somewhere to put it

Peter Foley, Amazon
28 November 2013
  • Summary: Web interface is functional but clunky, and the fan is noisy to put in a common space. I've got two in our SMB office and usually just use the command line and config files to change settings, but in terms of functionality for the price, there's no competition.

Not a bad switch, with a few caveats

Dave, Amazon
26 November 2013
  • Summary: If you're using this in a prosumer environment, buy this switch. It's a great choice for a high-end home setup and you won't be sorry. Given the price, it's also an excellent choice for a small office where you aren't concerned about network-wide management (or where you'll only be managing two or...
