Summary: I needed a switch on which I could configure vlan tagging (IEEE 802.1Q). This switch was by far the cheapest that I could find that could do vlans. It worked flawlessly for my needs. I used 3 of them in a configuration where each of the 100Mbps ports was tagged with its own separate VLAN number and one of the GigE ports became the trunk port. I needed to keep all the ports logically separate and this switch did that for under $160.
