Cannot open ports! Camera, Games, forget about it!
Scooter Rooter "SnoopyDog2", Amazon
23 August 2013
Summary: I had such high hopes for this router! When I first connected it, I experienced a noticeable increase in both range and speed over the comparable D-Link that I am replacing. However my primary purpose in changing routers, was to better manage my open ports, for security cameras. The D-Link liked to open and close ports at random - undependable. On the new router, EnGenius tech support spent 45 minutes on the telephone and could not even open port 80.
Summary: I logged onto the unit and changed the password. As part of the process, the unit powercycled. After that it never recovered. I tried reseting the unit to no avail. I cannot comment on how well the unit works, as this is as far as I got.
Summary: Ordered this router as a replacement for a failed TrendNet. I've liked EnGenius products in the past. However, this one came broken. It looks like the nut holding one of the antenna ports secure on the inside came off. It's loose and rattling around. Simple fix, but I didn't want to plug it in and short it out. It looks like someone will get a never used recertifed product at some point. Let's hope that Amazon will ship out my new router so I have wireless again.
Summary: Purchased one in October and signal strength was horrible, around 60% standing next to the router! Contacted EnGenius to complain about "High Power" claim and they sent me a new one. Problem solved thanks to their awesome customer service department and it worked great... One month later, it's DEAD! Router will not even light up. En Genius makes some awesome long range business class WiFi devices, but this is absolute junk.
Summary: After spending 2 hours with support team I had to return the first one and get a new one. amazon did a great job of replacing it very quick but after spending another 3 hours with two different level of support team, they recommended that I needed to get another one. At that point I Quit. Just returned the router.
Summary: This thing is bad, my 360 is only about 20 feet from my wireless router and this POC could not even keep it online for more than 30-45 minutes in a row. I called tech support and the first guy I spoke to acted like he had never even heard of this product and he worked at engenius!! I was like dude, this is your product, do i need to walk you through this??
