Summary: As other reviewers have said this simply does what is says on the tin. No fuss, no problems, just plug it in and it works. However Amazon supplied mine with a European 2 pin power supply which needs an adaptor and is a right mess. So if you want an excellent switch at a good price buy one of these, just don't buy it from Amazon, go somewhere that will supply it with a UK power supply.
Summary: Technically this is a great little unit. I've replaced a Netgear 10/100 switch with the Edimax and I've not encountered any issues so far. My only grumbles are that I would have preferred to have the indicator lights adjacent to the Ethernet ports rather than on the other side of the box and that the lightness of the unit means that when it's fully loaded with cabling that runs immediately downwards and away from the box, it needs to be weighted or screwed down to...
Summary: This product really is a joy to have on the NAS shelf. It takes up very little room and is an elegant white finish, making it very easy to clean. I brought this to mainly link my 1GB NAS to my 1GB PC and feed the rest of my slower 10/100 network components. The switcher seems to be performing this function very well, although I can't give any actual timings, the flow of data between my PC and NAS are definitely faster than the old 100 connection they used to enjoy.
Summary: I had all the ports of my router used and I needed an extra one. I got this switch, connected it to the router using a short cable, using a freed up port in the router and on of the switches ports and then I have got 7 extra ports! I haven't tried to measure network or internet speed through the ports of this hub but I couldn't see any difference between the direct connection to the hub and the connection through the switch.
Summary: As you might expect, there is not much to say about a switch. It just works. I plugged everything in and it all connected as expected, zero configuration. Computers with different speed connections all got what they were capable of. The auto negotiation worked as expected (any port can be used as an uplink). Power supply never got too hot, which indicates its not too power hungry.
