Summary: Having read some good reviews about this product here, I bought one to set up a wireless home network from an ICON-225 Orange dongle (we are in one of those UK coldspots where we can't get braodband at all). Despite weeks of trying, and a few hours on the phone trying to get help, we have got nowhere at all. Totally useless product, and the instruction manual and setup wizard is so badly written - terribly translated from Chinese perhaps? Not very inspiring at all.
Summary: The general performance of this router is pretty poor. It has incredibly slow through-put even when wired to a LAN as I discovered when updating the firmware. The range of the wireless signal is mediocre. The web based user interface is clunky and wants to restart the unit when anything is changed. Static DHCP leases don't work.
Summary: Just drops the connection every few minutes, which means a trip upstairs to reboot it.if its kept busy (ie download something in another tab) then it works ok but thats no good with limited download 3g. Also after a few weeks it seems to have fried my huaweii e220 which now behaves the same when its plugged directly into laptop.
Summary: I bought two of these routers for use primarily for an upload application and to use with prepay dongles. I found it difficult to get dongles that would work with the device (Vodafone did not, '3' was a problem). I found an O2 dongle that did work, but the connection was not reliable. I subsequently bought the Zoom routers also here on Amazon and got better Wifi signal and much better 3G reliability.
Summary: using three dongle first one and router kept loosing detail of user name and password returned via efficient Amazon return system second one does exactly same have to keep unplugging and plugging back in the dongle to get it flashing again or worse have to re-set the user name and password periodically.
Summary: My model did not work as expected so I decided to return it within first 7 days. Problems: Design problem - you must plug your usb dongle via a supported cable as the power socket is to close to the usb one. Not a big deal but I was slightly disappointed (I am using huawei e169 dongle). It is good to have an extending usb cable but I have a strong signal at home anyway, so no need to have extra cables around. Cons: 1. Dropped connections.
