Summary: The antenna are on the opposite side to the LAN ports. The box really wants to stand upright. Fine if you hang it on a wall. But if you do so, how are you ever gonna see the diagnostics LEDs? Granted, they aren't essential but it would still be nice if one could actually see them. This is no "easy" box to configure. Given the impressive feature list, I do not mind this at all. What I mind is the poor English in many places, the manual included.
Summary: Solid product with good functionality. We have the 3G failover WAN with a 'three' dongle. Technically support are knowledgable and helpful, we got the rules we wanted and load balancing setup with them in 10mins.
Summary: Product easy to setup for domestic/home office use, but also has many more advanced facilities for more complex requirements. Wi-Fi setup in particular is very straightforward, in contrast other products in my experience have taken a lot of work to get devices to reliably connect with them. The only functionality missing is the ability to have both Wi-Fi bands active simultaneously.
Summary: Took a while to set up but then I'm no expert. I got work & guest wireless set up, secured & isolated easily enough. Managed to get 3G failover working quickly - had no idea what settings to type into teh boxes so just plugged in my Orange dongle and it worked! Got VPNs set up for people with a little help from a friendly IT pro. May well need to add a second WAN but this is ready for it.
Summary: An excellent product which is only let down by: 1. a poor manual wriiten in "chinese" english 2. firmware which does not support USB modems properly Draytek technical support (internet access issues excepted) is by premium phone line which is a bit much given how poor the manual is at explaining anything non basic.
Summary: I was initially going to mark the value down a notch as this is a relatively expensive piece of kit, but on hindsight, you get so many more features than standard routers, that I feel it would be unjust. I've worked with the previous model (2820) on many client sites for year & they are very reliable & configurable. Performance is as you'd expect from an N class router with Gigabit ports.
Summary: Misco. service/delivery is first class. This modem/router is not for the faint hearted. The installation and setup is difficult and needs a good IT background it is not helped by inadequate documentation. Setting up port-forwarding is particularly difficult with little help in the manual. I would not recommend this product for the average home user apart from everything else it's very expensive. However, when its up and running it does a great job.
