  • Pros: none
  • Cons: I have a DI-624 router and DWL-G650 laptop card, both from d-link and compatibel with this repeater, an I occationally can get this beast to work. I spent 3 hours on the phone with their "level 3" tech. support and they couldn't get it to work. They even replaced the unit for me and they couldn't...

No Guarantee to work with others

  • Summary: Not necessarily easy to setup. Also this unit is likely to work with other Dlink equipment but not with other manufacturers. Test before you buy.
  • Pros: Small, compact, lightweight. Easily transportable.
  • Cons: May not work with other wifi manufacturers.

Connectivity vs. speeds

  • Summary: I have a DI-624 router with a D-Link wireless PCI card. I plugged in the range extender after configuring it with my network. It seemed to work for a while but then would drop the signal. Turns out that I had to disable the Super G Dynamic Turbo on my router for it to work consistently.

Do the firmware first...

Cliff L., Newegg
28 April 2005
  • Summary: This thing would not connect to my LinkSys router at all with either wep-128 or no encryption until the latest firmware was installed. Works fine now though and connects faster than LinkSys 802.11g wireless USB adapter. Thanks to Newegg for speedy shipping.
