Summary: This little gem works great once OpenWrt is flashed on it. It's rock solid and reliable, and it even runs cool. Only 2 problems prior to flashing OpenWrt caused me to remove a star from this otherwise great product.
Summary: This is my first experience with a router or anything like it! Since my PC doesn't have a DVD or CD drive foe the install CD I thought I was lost! The phone number for customer support on the enclosed pamphlet was wrong, but once I went to their website and got the correct number and called all was...
Summary: Yeah, it's fine. I use it as a portable wireless router for remote work locations on occasion. It just sits in my work bag until I need it. Then it sits on a table and works just fine as a hot spot. No complaints...It just works.
Summary: I bought this router to replace a 2Wire router that came with a DSL modem from my phone company. 2Wire only worked properly with my Windows laptop and all my other devices (MacBook Pro, PS3, Android Phone) were dropping connection constantly despite getting strong signal.
Summary: I gave the D-Link DIR-601 router a 4-star rating based the three most important attributes: Price, ease of setup and performance. It was only $20 at the time I purchased it, which seems less than the cost of the materials to make it(!).
Summary: I bought a refurbished product, which came with its original (windows) cd and all the cables, etc in the box. I use OSX 10.7. All I had to do is to plug the router into the modem and switch both the router and the modem at the same time.
Summary: I loved the price of this device and purchased it with a few concerns. I was worried I could not get it to run on my Linux OS (Ubuntu 11) Toshiba Laptop. I was able to set it up manually following the pdf file from the install CD. This happens to be the way to set up on a MAC as well.
