Summary: I owned one of these for a few years. I also had some trouble getting my printer to wake from sleep mode to print, and assumed it was a bug in the printer. Bought a second printer and had the same problem. The only thing between the printer and the computer was this switch.
Summary: I've owned a lot of D-Link products over the years and most have been a great value. Though I bought this unit some time ago I didn't really need all the speed it should be able to push as a Gigabit switch.
Unit OK, D-Link Warranty "rules" make the Warranty nearly useless
1 December 2011
Summary: I may be one of the few reviews here offering life cycle (3 year) experience. I own three of these units; two (2) DGS-2208 and one (1) DGS-2205 My experience with the unit has been about par for what I expected of a lower cost gigabit switch.
Summary: Our first product review for Its Geek Time is this nifty gigabit network switch brought to you by D-Link. For years D-link has taken a back seat to bigger companies like Linksys and Netgear for home network equipment.
Summary: This switch is, simply put, great. It took longer to unwrap, open, and get the parts out the box than it did to get all my network cables plugged in and movies streaming. I have 5 rooms with ports, so this 8-port switch is just enough to have 5 rooms/wireless router/media center/1 left to spare for...
Summary: How often do you get a piece of computer gear that requires NO screwing around? This is it. I got two of these to feed more devices on my home network. Within 2 minutes of opening the box, these are up and running. There's no setup.
QoS switch wonderful for VOIP, new HW revision even better!
Edison "hightech lover", Amazon
19 October 2010
Summary: I brought this switch for one star office six month ago. The QoS feature made the VOIP call so good (work with D-Link VPN router that can set the QoS). So I decided to buy another one from Amazon. This one is even better with improved hardware!
Summary: Have been using the 2208 switch in a mixed 100 Mb and 1000 Mb environment at home. Truly PlugNPlay - no setup, detects Gig clients when connected, latency measurements have been in the 1mSec range.
