Summary: Has a 1 year warranty plastered right on the outside of the box. I have experience configuring routers, but I just couldn't get this one going. I called the company and they gave me a phone number for support. Turns out it's a 3rd party that charges a fortune for support. I called D-Link back and they finally tell me that they've ended support for this router and won't help me configure it. After much trying, I admitted defeat and returned it.
Summary: I have had this for 2 weeks and this was my 2nd router that does the same thing. The router will work great for about the first week then will stop assigning ip addresses. Even after I assign the ip for static router it will only stay up for day if I am lucky. I mostly use this with ethernet cables and 1wireless device. It fails as a router which why I bought it. I have now taken it back and ordered the asus Rt-56 from amazon.
Summary: Firmware was revised SUPPRESSING important feature of DIR685, and downgrade is not allowed anymore. Yet, DLink keeps obsolete User Guide and Web Emulator. About support? I found no sign of liability. Do yourself a favour and keep off from DL.
Summary: I see a lot of complaints here about crashing and not vending DHCP addresses. If it's crashed and not working consider yourself lucky. Problem #1 - With a 750GB HD installed it's painfully loud. It's the loudest computing device in my home and I have plenty. It uses a small laptop fan which runs at full RPM 24/7. I had to stick it upstairs in a hallway well away from the bedrooms to get any sleep when the thing is on. It's like a small jet airplane.
Made in Taiwan / Customer support directly from Taiwan, that says it all.

Summary: This router was defective right out of the plastic rapped box. It had about five dead pixels on the tiny picture frame display. It also had gouges and scrapes on the plastic piece that covers the lcd display. D-link customer care and technical support reads directly from the pages of their manual and regardless of the fact that these defects were a manufacturer defect they would not fix it or allow me to replace it because it was purchased from Ebay and not from a...
Summary: This is a very innovative product that does a lot of things. But unfortunately it does many of those things badly. First of all, it is a horrible router. You might have read other reviews on other respected "cool gear" sites that would testify otherwise, but hear me out. If you are using a broadband internet connection that is slower than 8MBits probably you cannot figure out what's wrong with the router.
Never worked, even my expensive IT guy couldn't get it to work

Summary: I was very disappointed in this product. I thought I was buying a great item for my financial planning business. Instead, it didn't do backups, it was hard to install and get running, and generally did not work. I have since disconnected it and purchased another back up system. And, no, the router part didn't work well either.
