A lot more misses than hits

Jeremy I., Newegg
6 December 2013
  • Summary: I don't typically give a negative review of a product but this one has been so flaky, I can only advise to stay away.
  • Pros: Has lots of settings in the GUI that some home use routers don't include.
  • Cons: I work for a point of sale company and we have been using this router on all our installs for the past 9 months. When the router works, it seems to be a perfectly fine router. The problems I have come across with the router are the reason I needed to review this product. I have seen these as comp...

worst router ever

Tom Canning, Amazon
27 September 2013
  • Summary: I would recommend this router only to someone who wants to waste their money. The router doesn't hold a signal from the cable modem, you have to reset the router at least once a day. Wait until a company, other than D-Link, puts out a new 8-port router. --stay away!!!

Locks-up or drops connection

Dennis L., Newegg
24 March 2013
  • Summary: Good luck trying to submit a ticket on the D-Link website. First, you get to a non-scrollable page (use TAB key or mouse wheel, depending on which field is active to get past this awful programming), then when you finally enter in all of the data (serial, firmware, hardware, contact info, etc.
  • Pros: Works fine, when working.
  • Cons: Getting past the cheesy plastic construction for a router that costs over a hundred bucks, the router locks-up or drops the connection intermittently. All indicator lights (idiot lights) indicate everything is fine - but it isn't. You have to reset the router to get your connection back. My ISP o...
