Summary: The wireless speed is very good as well as the hard-wired connections. It has two wireless options the fastest option's range is very limited, but it lives up to my expectation. The installation is a bit convoluted if you select "replacing another router".

Summary: If your networking needs are modest -- gigabit backbone, and wifi to a few electronic appliances and computers, this is a great product. I pluged it in replacing a DIR-657, and it recognized everything immediately. Subjective network performance went up immediately.
Summary: This was to replace and old g unit, the new features are great and the range is much improved. I have a harddrive connected it and it works well. My only problem was a Western Digital media player could not see it as it did not allow me to enter the harddrive address but this was not the routers...
Summary: Read about this router on CNET, they recommended it and it seems to be working great, very easy setup. Have it in our basement and haven't had any problems picking up a signal any where in our house.
Summary: Very good router. I use it primarily for gaming but fairly consistently I have a laptop, 2 iPads, and multiple devices networked like blu-ray players and what not and the connection is always pretty good. Good investment.
Summary: I had been using an older D-Link router in my home to set up a wireless network. I was seek a greater range in the house and 3000 has increased the range to my workshop. Easy to set up also I am not an expert but knowledgeble Have no issues for the past couple of months
Good wireless router - just make sure you have the latest firmware!

Summary: There are other reviews here with some fantastic information and troubleshooting help - if you're having problems, read them (I did!) After updating the firmware this works flawlessly. Setup was easy. The DIR-857 was designed for anyone to use and install.
Summary: Great Router, loads of functions and easy to use. The only reason for not giving it 5 stars is for 2 reasons. First if you don't keep the router in an area that has good air flow the unit will heat up and cause a need to reboot the unit on a regular basis.
Summary: so far this is the best router that I have owned in years. I especially like being able to use SD cards to store small data. The USB 3.0 is very fast and accommodates my NAS disk for network backup.
