Summary: I purchased this product for the dual band, and for the USB 3 port. After months of changing settings, the 2.4GHz band is finally no longer kicking my older devices offline every 20 minutes. When they say "Shareport technology", what D-Link means is that you will have to download their Shareport software if you want to be able to access the USB drive from anything but a full PC.
Summary: When it works it works great, but don't count on it being consistent. Tolerated it for about 9 months, will be calling in under warranty, but from what I see from other reviews it is par for the course. Loses connection and you either wait or have to reset it. Have the latest firmware, doesn't help.
Don't buy even if cheap! Unstable even after firmware upgrade.

Summary: OK, I'll admit it, I bought this router because it was cheap. I found it for about half price as an Amazon Warehouse Deal. I only read the first few reviews and certainly didn't do enough research since the problems I ultimately experienced were shared by many others. Router setup was relatively easy, especially since I had been using another D-Link wireless router for several years. The problems began when I attempted to add the kids' iPod Touch devices to the network.
Summary: I'm really disappointed with this router. Is really easy to setup but 5 minutes later it began to shut down every 15 minutes. Searching throught the web the only help you got is to turn off all the add-ons to make the router configuration stable. Sorry but I already have a dlink router that works really great but this is not the same! I hope Dlink support could make another firmware upgrade because this model already have some serious trouble!
Summary: As wireless Access point i can't complain yet. Signals is strong and everything works pretty fast. I didn't check max throughput though... Where it crashes and burns is in it's DLNA (uPnP) media streaming advertised capabilities. I connected external hard drive to the usb share-port and TV did find the server, but it fails to find any files on the hard drive. I ended up connecting the hard drive to my computer and streaming the media from the computer to the TV.
Summary: I really really wanted this to work. The USB plug on my WNDR3700 stopped working after a year and a half, which I used as to stream to devices via Samba. This router and the similar DIR-857 were the only ones I could find that supported USB3.0, so I gave it a shot. First of all, the router is very attractive, and you can adjust virtually anything you want via the web panel.
Worst D-Link router I've owned (and this is number 6).

Summary: UPDATE: Do NOT buy this model. Or check the D-Link Support Forums to see issues others are having first. DIR-827 purchased on 12/11/2011 and I have to RMA it on 6/6/2012. For the past two months the 2.4GHz radio just stops working. Sometimes it breaks once a week, other times daily (however, 5GHz continues to work without issue). The only way to recover the 2.4GHz radio is to reset the 2.4 radio settings and reboot router.
