Rajesh Goel, Amazon
6 May 2015
  • Summary: Well Wifi is good. Main reason I bought this product was USB port to connect to a hard drive which can be accessed over Wifi. However that was disappointing. It doesn't open the explorer version to access hard drive but you can access picture view so you can move picture by picture.

Works Great, if you don't smash it while setting it up!

Clearline, Amazon
6 August 2014
  • Summary: When it comes to routers, I Always buy D-Link, especially as they are the only brand that has LAN IP address reservations, in most of their models. Once in operation and set-up, this models daily useage would qualify for 5 Stars: * No overheating, or too warm problems (constantly running for about 8...

Works well and set-up was very easy. Speed is the issue

Kevin J. Post "KJP", Amazon
12 July 2014
  • Summary: Works well and set-up was very easy. Speed is the issue. So far I can only get the 5Ghz side to only go to 400 max connection, normal is 150-160 - the old Apple router could go up to 490 easily and averaged over 350 connection speeds.

OK, could be better

AB, Amazon
1 May 2014
  • Summary: I have been working with this router for 1.5 months, if you are looking for high performance maximum throughput router you may want to expend some more bucks on another product but if you are looking for an ok dual band router this could be a good option, I bought mine for almost half the price of...

Typical Feature Set of Lower Priced Routers

Jesse H., Newegg
15 March 2013
  • Summary: -I didn't test the performance of the Cloud feature on this router, but can confirm it works and accepts downloads. -The reason I gave this router 3 eggs is because there's nothing here to really justify the price. $110 (regular price) is more than double the price of routers with comparable specs.
  • Pros: As far as a dual-band wireless-N router goes, this device does what is expected. -Both the 2.4 and 5gh/z bands work seamlessly and flawlessly. I can connect to both with acceptable bars from a room roughly 3 walls away (maybe 20ft). -The design is minimalistic yet stylish, and should fit in with ...
  • Cons: -The MyDLink App, while being user friendly, doesn't allow a lot of customization. I tested it by downloading the app on my phone and seeing if I could see the websites visited on my computer. While the service allows you to block devices, it doesn't allow you to block webpages, or have any real ...

Terrible wireless performance

Nathan E., Newegg
13 March 2013
  • Summary: The router does its job and easily allows access to files while "on the go", but falls on it's face in terms of wireless performance. So if you're looking for cheap, easy access to your files this might just be the router for you.
  • Pros: I've had this product for about a month now which gave me adequate time to put it through it's paces. In some areas it shines and in others it falls flat on its face. The design is nice and provides a small footprint, so it won't take up a lot of space on your desk. It is a dual band (2.4GHz / 5G...
  • Cons: Unfortunately, I think there are more cons than pros with this router and I wouldn't recommend it to my clients. The wireless performance is terrible and doesn't get anywhere close to the "600Mbps" DLink claims. I was only able to achieve speeds of around 125Mbps standing right next to the router...

its alright

john m., Newegg
7 March 2013
  • Summary: within most of my home i have full signal strength, if i am far enough away to where there is more than 3 walls between the router and my laptop i will loose a bar, but that's not out of the ordinary. its a acceptable router if you dont intend on any online gaming.
  • Pros: The Dlink DIR-826l Has a interesting shape, it looks more like a drinking glass rather than a router. it ships inside a box with licensing information, a quick install guide, a single 3 foot Ethernet cable, and power adapter and a convenient little card with router configuration information. info...
  • Cons: I have been using this router for the last few days while playing starcraft2. i get disconnected too often when using the wifi, i am the lagger now. this never happened with either of the other two routers i used. For this price i think you should get more. the router should be USB3.0 or at least...

good connection, bad storage

Anonymous, Newegg
18 August 2012
  • Summary: I have contacted Dlink about this and they just said to update the firmware which did no good at all.
  • Pros: The router is great, I noticed a increase in speed in all but one computer but that one was already maxed out. I have a greater range with this router and it was easy to set up.
  • Cons: The part of this router that I cant get to work is the storage. I have a external hard drive connected to it and it just will not work right. It displays some movie files, the others don't show up or show up as garbage. If I can get a movie to start to download it will only download about 20% and...

A basic router for simple wireless connectivity

Ian, Amazon
17 November 2014
  • Summary: This router can be bought for less than 50$, and the it's capabilities reflect this. Only purchase this router if you are only hooking a couple wireless devices to it. I have my PC connected to it by cable, and we will use a laptop and our phones on occasion to connect to it wireless.
