Summary: I had been looking for a new router after buying a Smart television. It would make it about 20 minutes into programing, then say I had no internet connection. I was hoping 600 Mbps would be enough. It was not. As long as you don't need to stream HD video on the other side of a large home, you should be fine. Easy set up and such.
Better hope you're in a cooler climate than San Francisco.

Summary: The router worked fine for the first few weeks. At some point, I started noticing severe lag when transferring files to and from my Network Attached Storage. I originally thought it was because I had my NAS plugged into my cable modem/gateway directly, which I've had problems with in the past (hence why I got the router), so I plugged the NAS directly into the router. You'd think going through one router from a laptop to an external storage would be fast, right?
Summary: Purchased this September 9 2013 to replace an 8 year old Linksys when upgrading to a 1gHz network. Using high speed cable modem. Worked OK for 4 months, then began randomly dropping IP addresses of wired and wireless clients. Three wired and numerous wireless devices. No amount of rebooting or reconfiguring helped. By April 2014 it could not hold IP addresses for longer than 3 hours. PC Mag in January 2014 did not rate this router as an editors choice.
Summary: Probably my last D-link router unless CS steps in and set things right. I emailed the support but havent received reply so we will see....
Pros: Everything was working fine but after about 1/2 year of use the router lost 5 GHz band. Similar to another reviewer's experience here, I can only get weak signal if I am with in like 1-3 feet from the router. Reset the router, updated firmware, changed channel, played with settings, but no go. These D-link router seems to have issues with 5 GHz band. The 2.4 GHz band still works but only time will tell...
Cons: This appears to be common issue with these DIR routers from D-link. People are upgrading firmware, playing with setting, only to find out that the hardware gets faulty after few month of use.
Pros: Great Range (When it worked) Easy to setup Dual Band 5Ghz
Cons: After about 5 months, it suddenly drops all 5Ghz communications, I reboot the device, and still cant find a signal, only when I bring my laptop, phone, and tablets within 3 feet of the device do I get a weak signal. Factory resetting the device didn't help. I emailed a detailed explanation to DLINK support and asked for a RMA number only to be told to contact the help desk and they will talk me thru some diagnostics.
Summary: I bought this router and it worked great for about a month. Then one day, it started having problems: my Xbox360 wouldn't stream videos or download games (and it's wired to the gigabit port instead of wireless). The 5GHz band would hang and not load pages. One day it worked great, the next day it didn't.
Summary: Bought this router to replace the old broken one with a focus on signal strength and shared drive via the USB-port. The setup is OK, it failed over wi-fi and took some work to get it over the LAN, but it works (as an IT'er I can manage). The connections over wi-fi turned stable and the signal strength appears similar to the old Belkin router; no gain no loss.
