Not even six months later and jabber jabber jabber <connection lost>!
5 January 2015
Summary: I haven't had this beast very long, and already I have problems. Out of the box Gigabit worked fine with wired connections, but Wi-Fi was spotty at best. A firmware update was available that helped the wireless somewhat, but... Jabber jabber jabber jabber jabber jabber.
Summary: Despite being labelled a "gigabit router", the port where you connect your modem isn't gigabit. I have 150mbit service at my house, so I would have been losing 1/3 of my speed if I had kept this router.
Summary: Low signal strength. Did not like this router's user interface. Try it for a few days did not see any improvement in my over all WiFi connectivity and even lost some functionality that I had in my former router. The few new options didn't buy me much in the way usability that I need or wanted.
Summary: I've never been so happy to have a product die on me! My DIR-826L has been the worst WiFi router I've ever used, and I've used an awful lot of them over the years. (I'm the guy who used to review networking products for PC Magazine back when it was a real magazine) My D-Link has been erratic since I...
Summary: I want to replace my current Linksys WRT54GS with this D-Link 826L based on several positive experiences on this model. I purchased this 826L from officedepot and returned it back to officedepot today. The reasons I returned this 826L are: 1.
Summary: I had been looking for a new router after buying a Smart television. It would make it about 20 minutes into programing, then say I had no internet connection. I was hoping 600 Mbps would be enough. It was not.
Summary: I thought I would try this since I have been using a DIR-655 for sometime and was happy with it, but wanted dual band. Well, for me, this was not a good choice, at least right now. The main problem I had was getting a stable wireless signal.
Summary: Bought this router to replace the old broken one with a focus on signal strength and shared drive via the USB-port. The setup is OK, it failed over wi-fi and took some work to get it over the LAN, but it works (as an IT'er I can manage).
Summary: I bought this router and it worked great for about a month. Then one day, it started having problems: my Xbox360 wouldn't stream videos or download games (and it's wired to the gigabit port instead of wireless). The 5GHz band would hang and not load pages.
