Summary: I purchased D-Link because the box said "lets you watch Netflix and Vudu" because of HD Fuel Technology blah blah. Very misleading because the company and my cable company said not so. So......I have a 'tried to hook up D-Link' back in the box wondering what it's good for. I replaced a blu-ray wih a smart blu-ray for 5X as much which accomplished the Netlix thing. I also purchased a high-end wireless router for the wireless capabilities.
Summary: many electronics have a hard time connecting, once connects it frequently and briefly disconnects and interupts service, quite aggrovating... range is not impressive for being an N series router...
Summary: The reliability and quality of this router is so poor that I've put in my closet and wrote it off a loss. My consciense won't let me run the risk of this toy fall in the hands of another unsuspecting sucker by returning it.
Pros: Aesthetically, it looks pleasing. That's about it. Although it has many features, you won't possibly be able to make use of it because of the numerous disconnection you'll encounter.
Cons: I have never done any product reviews, and never intended to, but I felt compelled to warn would be buyers of this lousy product. As others have mentioned in their reviews, this is a very unreliable product. The first week was like a honeymoon stage, where everything seemed fine. After that, sudden D/Cs became an incessant habit of this. Also, this thing does poorly in streaming HD quality videos. My Airlink Super54g did (and does, as I went back to it) a superior job...
Summary: I used it for barely two weeks, I had to go back to my old one. Sound great for the price but useless. I just want to throw it in the garbage. I am waiting on an honest apology from the vendor before to do so. Hopefully my refund won't wait.
Summary: I've purchased other D-Link products and have always been satisfied. Died after one day - piece of junk. Should have known better and listened to the reviews. Oh well, for $20 I didn't think I could go too far wrong. Wrong!!
Summary: I spent an hour trying to get it setup and just when I thought it was good to go It kept dropping the internet connection. I will try working with support when I have more time. When I called they had a long hold time. I should take that as a sign!
Summary: I messed up. I should have read the reviews on this before I bought it. Just look at them on Amazon. This router is consistent with those reviews. Won't hold a connection for more than 10 minutes and then it won't reconnect, you have to reset it. I have had many routers, with even less heard of names than d-link and had much better performance. If I can ever get 1saleaday to allow me to return it, it's going back.
Summary: Purchased this router (D-Link DIR-657)to replace a dead one-year-old D-Link DIR-855. This one made it to the last screen of the CD-based setup wizard, D-Link DIR-655 Extreme N Gigabit Wireless Router and then crapped out. Two hours of my time+45 minutes of Indian tech support, and this unit goes back for a refund. Next up: Netgear N750.
