Summary: The DIR-655 is the worst router I have ever owned! I have purchased three D-Link routers in my life: D-Link DI-524, D-Link DIR-625 and DIR-655. I had great success with the 524 and the 625 D-Link routers. However, the DIR-655 was the worst router I have ever owned.
Pros: The second one worked for almost one year.
Cons: Third time is not a charm. Please see below.
Summary: I got excellent customer service from Kyle and other members of the team in order to resolve my issue (see above). I would highly recommend D-Link for these reasons. batch id: ar004218 ticket: c6703291 Support agent: Kyle
Pros: Very solid product, had the old version for years before upgrading. Customer support is A+ (main issue turned out to be my modem but they still worked with me)
Cons: Very slow with iPad Air 1st generation - can't download at higher than 2mbps. Replaced iPad with Apple, upgraded router firmware, tried every setting in the router configuration, researched issue on google: no luck :( I need another router now to get online with my iPad.
Cons: Recently wireless performance has been getting worse an worse, it is now displaying the signal, but we are unable to connect sometimes unless we reset it. Then it works for about an hour, stops working for 10 min, works for 30 min, stop working for 5 min, etc. Plugging it in wired, or directly to...
I'm writing this review on the cellular network, so you can guess it's not gonna' be nice :)

Summary: Isn't supported by OpenWRT or DD-WRT.
Pros: Worked well for about 1 year. The setup wizard worked well.
Cons: Started dropping connections after one year. At first some of our cell phones refused to play nice, then tablets started to complain followed by several of our laptops. The only way to fix it is to reset (not just reboot) the router to factory settings. This is a big hassle. My family uses the ro...
Summary: I feel bad giving 4 stars but I expect better longevity for what should be a higher quality consumer router. It was time for me to upgrade anyway and I did. After much research switched to ASUS RT AC1900 Dual Band.
Pros: Gave solid performance for 4 years. No issues or quirks. Good management features. Good value at the time of purchase.
Cons: After 4 years starting dropping connections. Required reboots. Reset to factory. Made sure it had the most recent firmware. Slowed throughput and buggy. 3 months of pain.
