Summary: I picked this thing up from Bestbuy a while back, and a few years later it's still going strong! I think this is one of the best routers I have ever used! The signal strength is simply wonderful and the speeds are phenomenal.
Summary: I wish I had the same experience with this router as other reviewers here have. It started out great. The setup seemed easy, and I was getting a signal, though a weak one, in areas that I had a hard time getting any signal in. Then, about a half-hour later, I was getting no connection at all.
Summary: I had to return it. It constantly dropped the wifi connection and the signal wasn't strong enough to fill my 2 bedroom apartment. After a whole day of going back and forth with dlink's support they finally told me to return it. My amazon seller accepted the return right away.
Summary: We live in a big old 100 year old house. We have plaster walls and 2 stories and many curves. The router is strong but it really needs some extra help. What I'm trying to tell you is don't think it's going to work miracles.
Summary: Purchased this for ~$20 on a crazy sale when my other router (DIR-655) started to show signs of failure. I had a weak spot in my upstairs that i was hoping this "smart beam" router would fix. Unfortunately it did not.
Pros: Appearance Web set-up and management application Networking features
Cons: Did not remove weak/unreliable spots from the house as I hoped. Coverage area smaller than previous router (DIR-655) positioned in same location.
Summary: Still not entirely sure if it's a great router, but I got it extremely cheap so as long as it works I think I will be pretty happy with it.
Pros: Looks nice Easy Initial Setup Seems to be working fine now
Cons: Essentially didn't work for the first few hours I had it. I upgraded the firmware immediately to the newest version based on the review feedback I had seen in this thread. After a lot of hassling with options/etc and restarting it I finally seem to have wrangled it into working. What I actually t...
Not really a big improvement in range from inferior router

Summary: I had a G router before, came with the cable/internet provider, but was not liking the reception throughout the house. This router, though it looks better and has very usefull features such as DNLA/NAS, did not improve much - if anything - in the reception on the 3rd floor.
Summary: I probably expected too much from this device. I replace a Linksys Wireless-N router and the difference was minimal. When it said Whole-Home I thought it meant it. I works good though, so I left it, just have a backup Linksys now.
