  • Summary: I resell D-Link product, and I've watched the quality of their products slide over the years. Sadly. Because they used to be great, and now it's a race for the bottom. Having installed several of these, I've replaced just about all the ones we sold because I wasn't happy and neither were the clients. Firmware updates, re-jiggering settings...this unit is just terribly unreliable.

  • Summary: I have always been a fan of D-Link products and have owned several over the years. I purchased this wireless router in April, 2013. It was connected to a Bright House cable modem, and I had frequent drops from the beginning, which I blamed on the Bright House modem. Each time I rebooted the modem and the router which temporarily solved the problems.

Bad range

  • Summary: Bought this because I needed more range in my house. I only have a 2,000 sqft house and the wifi has a pretty bad range. Its super slow in most of my bedrooms that are only about 50 to 100 feet away.

Kept kicking me off

  • Summary: We ended up having to return this router because it kept kicking my computer off the network every five minutes or so. Our other computers worked fine with it, but for some reason I couldn't maintain a steady connection on my imac.

Should have heeded the low ratings

  • Summary: As many people have reported, this things works very inconsistently. It seems fine, then pages timeout. Sometimes an immediately refresh is happy, other times it takes minutes before anything connects. Hours and hours of debugging to figure out if the issue is with the computers, cable modem, etc. Finally have given up and gone back to our old reliable Linksys.

problems from the beginning should have returned it

  • Summary: I had problems with this from the beginning. I should have returned it. It was almost impossible to pair it with my DOCSIS 3.0 modem. Was on the phone with customer support for over 2 hours before we got it workable. It worked just enough so so I didn't return it. After a while time got away from me and I couldn't justify sending it back. As soon as I can afford it I am replacing it. Range is not better than a G Wireless. It locks up constantly.
