Lower Cost Option

Ben, Amazon
24 July 2014
  • Summary: It works great with my Netgear XAVB5004 and two XAVB5602. I looked for a second XAVB5004 for months since I didn't want to fill my router with powerline adapters. I saw a used Netgear XAVB5004 on Amazon for over $300. The D-Link AV 500 was $88, new. The D-Link AV 500 is a 4-Port Powerline Adapter and integrated perfectly with my two types of Netgear Powerline Adapters. Only one port on my router is used for these four powerline adapters and this works for me.

Good solution but will not achieve the advertised speeds

Fox: Fairly Unbalanced, Amazon
18 June 2014
  • Summary: This is a good alternative to wireless. I am concerned about security and wanted to physically attach all my devices. While this does work, it does not achieve the desired speeds as advertised. I think the only way this is possible is if all of your circuits are on the same run. It it goes through a circuit box then the speed is greatly decreased.

6 Hours Is Long Enough to Get theses to Work

Jamie coats, Amazon
31 May 2014
  • Summary: Seriously D-Link this product, the documentation and usability is disgraceful. As CEO you should be ashamed that you would oversee such rubbish leaving your company. After 6 hours I have given up. If you read the reviews you will understand customer frustrations. I know some people are writing good reviews but I think potential purchasers should understand the the people who get these things working are clever geeks, meant as a compliment guys, as am I.

worthless product

15 May 2014
  • Excerpt: This product (and all the D-Link power line adapters) will only work for outlets on the same electrical circuit in your home. I'm not sure why they don't tell you that. How many homes have all the outlets on the same circuit? My guess is none that are built to code. If you're thinking you're going to create a whole house network with this product, think again. You're not. I verified this after waiting 1/2 hour on hold for D-Link tech support.
  • Pros: None
  • Cons: Not As Advertised
