Great little switch with advanced features

John, Amazon
17 June 2014
  • Summary: First of all, this is the DGS-1100-24 Easysmart 24 port gigabit switch. It was released on March 19, 2011, so it's newer than some of the other well-rated switches sold on Amazon. Similarly to the DGS-1024D switch, this switch is also fanless, quiet and energy efficient. This switch provides an easy to use web interface to manage advanced features.

Easy? Check. Suitable for complex environment? Not so much.

Rodney G. Graves, Amazon
17 June 2014
  • Summary: As smart switches go this is an idiot savant. Web interface? Check. Command Line Interface? Not so much. Port based VLAN? Check. 802.11.Q Tagged VLAN? Check Both at the same time? Not so much. Most of the other smart switch features seem to be there as well. So, for moderately high end home or small business, Excellent! For medium or larger business with complex environments? Not so much.

not worth the price

high adventurer, Amazon
14 February 2013
  • Summary: First off everything was working fine with the old switch (d-link gigabit unmanaged switch) which had a Synology DS412+, Macs and PCs on both wifi and wired connections, iSCSI and mobil devices. I decided to upgrade since it was full and did not support Link Aggregation or trunking. The DGS-1100 was received and thats when everything started going wrong. First off trunking does not work properly it will not keep a good connection to all the devices.

Die within a year

Eddie, memoryexpress.com
12 February 2014
  • Summary: My network start acting weird for the past year. Packets dropped. Internet got disconnected. I needed to restart everything to make it work again. Today, this DLINK switch die totally. No light at all. I am glad that it died totally so that i don't need to spend time to troubleshoot. Just buy another brand.
  • Pros: Plug and play. It works great for the first year
  • Cons: Not reliable after the first year

Excellent value for dollar

Neil Leighton, memoryexpress.com
30 April 2013
  • Summary: An excellent choice for the dollar. Enable trunking mode and team server adapters and servers will communicate at 2 gbps or 4 gbps depending on # of adapters in team.
  • Pros: Switch works beautifully with Intel i340/i350T4 adapters. Works like a Cisco switch in that it has a running and NVRAM config. Clicking on Save/Apply buttons in web interface only changes the running config. User MUST be aware that they need to click on the Save Configuration button at top of screen when finished updating running config, or next reboot switch WILL be back to factory defaults.
  • Cons: None found so far, have used many to date

pice of crap

Ed Williams, memoryexpress.com
19 January 2013
  • Summary: kept losing configuration even after it was stored to NVRAM and reverted top factory settings on it's own inexplicably. Made me look like an idiot in front of a new customer, wasted my time and theirs, put them out of service while they had consultants in trying to work.
  • Pros: wouldn't know, it was not working long enough to see any
  • Cons: failed out of the box - reverted to factory settings on its own after saving to NVRAM

Bon switch

philrich123, ldlc.com
16 July 2014

D-Link Gigabit 24-Port Rackmount-Switch DGS-1100-24

notebooksbilliger.de
8 May 2014
  • Summary: Das ist wirklichein super Switch.
