Pros: After ports died, replacement was shipped promptly
Cons: Not a good product. First one I bought had 3 ports go bad within 1 year. The replacement they sent me was an updated model, and it already has 1 port bad. I've had cheaper 24-port switches for many years with no ports going bad. Avoid this product.
Cons: I have worked with networking for 20+ years and I know electronics fail. It may just be coincidence, but this switch works great for a while and then all of a sudden stops working (within a year). We have a large surge protection where they were installed, so it shouldn't be power. I installed a ...
Summary: customer service is horrible. Be prepared to wait at least a 1/2 hour, listening to endless advertising before dealing with someone that barely speaks english. Must be a customer service station in Malasia.
Pros: looks nice, nice throughput.
Cons: connection speeds reset to 100Mbps/s when computers boot up. Once computer is booted, it says it's connected at gigabit speed, but throughput is only 100Mbps. If you then unplug the switch, & plug it back in, then computers can actually use gigabit speeds.
Summary: D-Link Customer support is "top class-not existent". I called them on Saturday and I was told to call on Monday to their "business department" because these are considered "business class" switches and their office only operate from Monday thru Friday.
Pros: Average speed. Nothing special other than the "good price" That's the Gotcha!
Cons: Everything you can imagine. I purchased 2 of them on February 7th, 2011 and the first one already died. They've been working under no intensive load, connected to battery backups and in a temp controlled environment. I have noticed that other users have also complained about the durability of the...
Summary: It was not running under load. Barely using 6 ports, connected to a battery backup and in a temp controlled environment. I'm not buying another one. I've seen several co-workers experiencing the same issue. They simply don't last because they are cheaply made. Skip it.
Pros: Average performance while it works.
Cons: Durability. These switches won't last longer than 6 months. I barely had it running for 6 months. Purchased in 02/07/2011 and the first one died on me just today.
Summary: IF YOU BUY THIS DEVICE KEEP A BACK UP HANDY - IT WILL FAIL AFTER ABOUT 1 AND A HALF YEARS!
Pros: Easy to install and leave alone for a small office (for about 1-2 years)
Cons: This is the 2nd one I've had and depending on what D-link does about the failure of these it may be the last. I thought it was odd the first one fail about 1 1/2 years into service, but now the 2nd one has done the same thing. Thankfully I kept my old SMC 24 port switch as a back up. It's served ...
Summary: It this unit would work, definitely a good price for it. But my experience with DLink, my opinion is to stay away from it.
Cons: Purchase this to replace my current netgear gigabite switch. Unfortunately the unit was faulty right out of the box. Plugging 100mb PC, works fine. As soon as a gigabite pc is plugged in, every pc start dropping connections, connection just resets, like i was plugging and unplugging the wired eve...
