Summary: Was looking for a 24 port desktop switch (wires at the back not front). Aren't many. Works great but my intention was to put my wireless access pont on top of it but when I do it wipes out the wireless - must be radiating a lot of noise. But I haven't had to reset it (cycle power) even once since I got it and had to do it frequently with the 10/100 Linksys switches it replaced.
Summary: I am generally a fan of D-Link and based on the reviews, I had high expectations for this switch. That said, the switch works great, when it works... However, about one or two times per week it crashes and requires that I unplug the power and plug it back in. Then it works again for another 3 to 7 days. It's extremely frustrating. A switch is just supposed to work. It's not supposed to be the primary source of your network outages. Pretty disappointed.
Summary: Needed a new switch as my old ten port was no longer large enough to connect to all the rooms and devices in my house. Office, family room, kids bedrooms (older doing college work), smart TVs, NAS, network printers, etc. This was the right price so I took a chance. Good move on my part as this switch works great. For a home network it is the best I have seen at its price point. Connections on the back help make it look aesthetically pleasing and keeps the wife happy.
Summary: It's a switch- plug it in and it works. I was looking to replace an old 8-port D-Link switch with a 16 or 24-port version. One of the main requirements was ports in the back for aesthetic reasons. That made the decision easy- in all my searching there was only two units I could find, this one and a no-name offbrand. Despite the terrible reviews about awful D-Link return/replacement policy, went with it anyway and keeping my fingers crossed.
Summary: No noise, plastic but sturdy, have two setup connecting to my punch down. The first box I received was defective (do to shipping it seems like), but sent it back and purchased another and it works fine. Haven't had any problems.
