Summary: Had the product for only a day so durability is not part of my rating. Setup is pretty easy, just plug in your cables, and plug it in. It appears to be fanless (at least I can't hear a fan), and the power supply is internal (no brick). Speeds are Gigabit range from my informal file transfer tests.
Summary: I ordered one of the 24-port D-link Rack-mount Gigabit switch as part of a project to rack up and centralize my home network and have been very happy with it. One of the questions before ordering this product for me was does it come with the hardware for mounting this inside a standard open frame...
Summary: I put 3 of these in a small business environment with roughly 60 connections and they work great. Great throughput for this size and very reliable. I have 3 of these in different versions over the last 5 years and they are little workhorses. For an unmanaged switch it gets the job done.
Summary: Purchased this switch to replace a failing . The D-Link DES-1026G was purchased about 7 years ago, and worked well up until about a month ago when the fan started failing and as a result the unit started overheating and causing connection issues.
Pros: Gets full 1000 Mbps throughput Doesn't draw much power at all if you are only using a few ports Rack mount ears are convenient, but can sit on a shelf etc. Integrated power supply, no wall wart to deal with
Cons: The lights on the front are laid out a bit odd
Summary: We bought two of these switches when we moved into a new office that had pre-existing Cat 5 wiring and a wiring closet complete with racks. We are using maybe 30 of the ports, with the two switches daisy chained together.
Summary: Used in a coworking space that is wired to patch panels in a networking closet. Connected the panels to the switch via cheap RJ-45 cables and we had a solid network running. Using a basic wireless router from LinkSys with this as well; very good price and quality.
Summary: I bought a pair of these switches for my younger brother so he could host a LAN party. They were hooked up to a D-Link DGL-4500 gigabit router; 2 dedicated servers we had were hooked up to a D-Link DGS-2208 gigabit switch off the router (with a few Xboxes), and all of the guests computers were...
