Summary: Simple and straightforward setup. Seems to work perfectly. It is very lightweight--cord tensions tip it to an angle. I decided to mount the unit on a wall. I deducted one star for mounting difficulty: The screw holes require almost-impossible precision, perhaps to within 1/64-in. (0.2 mm). Despite extreme care, I was unable to get the screws spaced to the needed precision and didn't want to make new holes with repeated attempts.
Summary: Works perfectly. Only negative is that the power cord comes off the side rather than the back with everything else. Would have been better for cord management if everything entered/left device from same place.
Summary: Plug it in and it works. Simple. Negotiates all individual port speeds separately so happily handles combination of gigabit / 100Mb. Haven't had an issue with it running hot as previously reported (in fact it's stone cold with 7 ports running). Overall speed gigabit - gigabit with jumbo frames is only averaging out at 200Mb in practice. Apparently it's reported that this is typical for this switch? Still neat switch though and would get another.
Summary: If you want a 'commutateur gigabit de bureau huit ports' the this is the place for you. The entire product and packaging is in french! I can deal with this, it should be out of the box plug and play anyway, but this was not mentioned anywhere on the description. Every so slightly sharp practice, IMO. The box, manual/leaflet etc are all printed in french, so be careful if this is important. I see also that other customers have noted the same practice with other products.
