Summary: I've owned nearly a half dozen of these little D-Link routers because they are so useful for taking to hotels--since many hotels (especially in Europe) are charging per device it's nice to have a router to make all my gadgets appear as one so I only have to pay for Internet access once. Plus I get encrypted wifi and don't have to share the wireless bandwidth with all the other hotel guests. But every one I've owned has failed after about 6 months.
Excerpt: This router is absolute garbage. The directions don't cover Windows 8 setup, are unnecessarily convoluted, and the D-Link tech support wait time was ridiculous. After waiting 30 minutes to even talk to someone, and another 30-45 minutes of messing around with my computer, I was hung up on without my issue being resolved.
Summary: IF you are not a tech wizard, stay away. No manual with the product. Manual found on the web confusing as hell. Phone support worse than terrible. You will wait 45 minutes and then get disconnected or speak to someone who does not comprehend English. Will not buy D-Link products in the future.
Dlink stopped connecting to the INternet after six months

Summary: At first, the pocket D-Link worked fine as a router and access point, but would never operate correctly as a wireless client. Additionally, after six months (and well after the return period expired) it stopped connecting to the Internet, no matter where it was connected. or if it was reset, firmware reloaded, etc. There are less expensive mini routers on the market that continue to work well past their warranty period, and I recommend passing this one up.
Summary: I bought this unit for my Ipad just prior to leaving for Europe for a 30 day vacation. Prior to leaving for Europe I contacted customer support at D-Link since I couldn't get it to work. After about 1 hr of phone time support could'nt get it to work either but assured me that if I just plugged it into the hotel's outlet everything would work just fine. WRONG! It never worked once.
Summary: I TOTALLY WASTED 9+ hours trying to get this to work, in either Router or Access Point mode, with deteriorating success. I am not a novice and have configured many routers and access points from other vendors without any prior trouble. This would not reliably connect to the devices, even after multiple factory resets and reconfigurations. It finally reached the point that it would not connect at all. This one is on its way back for a refund!
Summary: Wish I could write a better review for this product as I love the concept, and I've actually bought a number of variants on this design. But... Every one I've ever bought has quit working after a few months. It seems to work, all the lights blink appropriately, but nothing I try to connect to it will get an IP address.
