Excerpt: Bought at least a year ago and had issue with product out of Box. With a secured connection you could connect smart phones and tablets(Android or IOS) (for techie people wouldn't get IP address assigned via DHCP) you had to leave it unsecured to give them access(fixed with firmware 1.0.04 make sure it has it). Just now noticed with my son on you tube it only lets about 1/3 of bandwidth through on my network causing video to freeze constantly buffering.
Excerpt: This unit is advertised as being dual band, but you can only use one band at a time. It doesn't propogate ip addresses. The tech suppport cut me off after 20 minutes of frustrating "help" and the only way I could get it to work partially was to manually input DHCP info.
Cons: Does not work, No DHCP propogation, Terrible tech support, Unreliable connection
Excerpt: Boxes text does not make it clear that you can run EITHER the 2.4MHz OR 5GHz radio, NOT BOTH simultaneously. Documentation is a joke, one foldout sheet which covers only the most basic install. Online (linksys website) docs and support area are a mess.
Excerpt: After many years of reliable operations with the Linksys Wireless Access Point 11 (WAP11), I decided to upgrade to the dual-band, Linksys WAP610N. The number of wireless devices on my home network have significantly increased and the WAP610N meant upgrading from WEP to WPA2 encryption/security, 802.11b to 802.11n wireless protocol, and much faster performance.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Fast Connection Speed, Reliable connection, Secure Connection
