Still works after 18 mo

Anonymous, Newegg
31 January 2014
  • Summary: I don't like that reviews online are biased towards negative. I think it's help to know that many people receive working products.
  • Pros: No problems. Has been working for over 18 months so far.
  • Cons: none

Toon B., Newegg
17 September 2012
  • Summary: I installed this back in March and haven't had any problems with it.
  • Pros: 16 Ports of GigE happiness Simple Setup Runs reliably for months on end
  • Cons: Nothing negative to report, I suppose it could be a little smaller or cheaper but for what it does, I can't complain.

So fast...

Andrew W., Newegg
19 August 2012
  • Summary: I'd used the Netgear Prosafe switches before and found them to be mostly reliable, but spent the extra money on this one in the hopes that it would give me a performance boost. It did!
  • Pros: Really fast, quiet, lights are on the ports, looks fancy 'cause it says 'Cisco'.
  • Cons: Lights don't indicate connection speed.

Decent Switch

Clay F., Newegg
26 July 2012
  • Pros: This switch is very stable. Rock solid stable. I have never needed to cycle the power and every port works at full speed.
  • Cons: The only con I notice is that this switch does respond quickly on the initial request. What I mean is that after a PC first boots with static IP, the first request to any website, server, or a pc on the lan takes about 10 seconds. I have only noticed it with this switch. If i remove the switch an...

Excellent little switch!

Samir P., Newegg
15 May 2012
  • Pros: Plug in and ready to go! Small form factor. Rackmountable. Little to no heat generated. No fans, so no noise compared to the larger switch/routers out there. Vents on either side of switch to allow the little heat generated to quickly dissipate.
  • Cons: Only minor, but it would be nice if there was color differentiation between gigabit and 100 mb connections on each port. Not really a big deal, but just an observation like some other reviewers. Otherwise the switch is top notch for the price!

Linksys SR2016 (old version)

Bayt, Newegg
12 March 2012
  • Pros: Just wanted to say how good the original linksys SR2016 was. Purchased 1/13/05 for around $300, it has been running 24/7 in my home rack now ever since (UPS protected). Put in as part of a new home construction with cat6 everywhere. Cool to the touch even during long massive transfers, it has hel...

Fantastic

Benjamin A., Newegg
8 March 2012
  • Pros: I used to deal with bad consumer-grade networking gear (50 dollar routers, 30 dollar switches). After getting fed up with powercycling routers or sub-optimal switch speeds, I've upgraded all of my gear to Cisco. My previous switch was your typical Dlink low level gigabit switch. If it did a trans...

Best Switch Ever!

Richard B., Newegg
5 March 2012
  • Summary: Perfectly handles multiple HD streams (WHS to WD boxes) simultaneously. Machine-to-machine transfers are now relatively painless.
  • Pros: Was looking for a no muss, no fuss solution and this is it. Costs more than the competition but in this case you do get what you pay for. Never needs a re-boot, no noisy fans, stays cool, gigabit speed -- genius!

The "No Brainer" Choice

Raymond G., Newegg
5 February 2012
  • Summary: You won't regret purchasing this unit.
  • Pros: I have had this switch for over a month now, and it has been very reliable. I know this sounds like "piling on" since so many of the other reviews have been positive, but this has been my experience as well. Just plug it in, hook it up, and forget it. I have experienced no problems of any kind, a...
  • Cons: None that I have been able to identify. I do agree with one of the previous reviewers in that it would be nice if a separate color could be used for different network speeds, like gigabit, but this is such a minor nit that I do not consider it significant.

Best Switch for small business

Robert R., Newegg
30 January 2012
  • Summary: I buy switchs for allot of compaines and install them, but this is the best no manitiance switch out there. If you dont know how to configure a switch or dont need to because its a small business like mine, you cant go wrong.
  • Pros: I have had this switch in operation for over 8 months now and it has worked flawless. I am running Jumbo Frames with 6 PC,s 2 MAC's, 2 Network printers, 1 Apple TV & 1 Synology DiskStation DS212 and have had zero issues. Super fast, no fans so its quite and low enegry make it a smart choice. Get ...
