Excerpt: Switch is ok, and provides POE in a quality fashion. Switch lacks features that should be included: firewall and more managed features. This is not a Cisco switch: it is a rebranded Linksys switch and it has limited features needed for scaled environments.
Excerpt: This is a great switch with lots of capability for a good price. Not much else to say, other than I plugged it in and had it integrated within about 20 minutes including setting up LAG and Jumbo Frames...
Excerpt: I'm no network engineer so I can't give it the most thorough review. I am a sys admin for a 46 person law firm and was able to configure it without too much trouble. It has a nice interface with lots of configuration pages organized in various sections like Status and Statistics, Administration, Port Management, IP Configuration, and more. In order to get it working I had to set a DNS server and Gateway but after that things worked fine.
Pros: 28 Gigabit Ports, Fairly Intuitive Interfac, Quiet No Fans
Summary: It is a cheapest switch that can handle vlan with many ports and private vlan edge. 802.3ad support make trunking to my iSCSI QNAP TS-659 Pro II. And no fan makes usefull for especially in house.
