Summary: We have a small office with about 5 employees. I needed a phone system that worked well for us. I went out to local suppliers and they all tried to ripe me off. I looked at the different systems and decided I wanted the Cisco system. I did not want to pay the outragious prices they quoted so I bought it myself through Amazon. With the help of a local IT person to help me install it. I ended up with a great system and spent about $3000 total which saved me about $3500+.
Excerpt: Great little switch and the PoE & QoS makes it perfect for IP Phone setups. I run several of these in different office setups that handle all the bandwith for PoE IP phones, Servers and desktops without a glitch. Best bang for the buck out there.
Summary: Purchased for use with Cisco SPA 500-series IP phones + UC320. They work together very nicely with minimal effort needed to configure the switch - the auto-discovery set up a separate VLAN for voice, the phones and UC320 just work without drama. It's obviously more expensive than an unmanaged switch - but if you are building a Cisco VoIP system, it's a big savings of time/hassle.
