Very good switch, no fan, very quiet

Dennist, Amazon
20 May 2015
  • Summary: Exactly what I expected. Very simple to use, plug it in, connect all your devices and you are off and running. I bought for the quietness, no fan. I have been configuring Cisco routers and switches for years, would be nice to have a little control such as management of port speed, permissions on...

Seems to work OK but doesn't look the same

Michael Rowe, Amazon
8 February 2014
  • Summary: Overall, the switch does what it says it will do. I am concerned that when I search the Cisco support site, the switch does not show up. Also the front of mine is a solid piece of metal, and does not show the lights that are shown here. The contained documentation is also lacking.

Economical, Excellent Switch that Does the Job

computcats, Ebay
9 December 2013
  • Summary: I didn't know the difference between a Managed and an Unmanaged Switch, so after doing a little research I found out most small businesses don't need the "Managed" switch. I bought the Unmanaged External, Cisco Small Business 100 Series 16-Port External Switch for a great price and it has worked out...

Keith S., Newegg
3 December 2013
  • Summary: Switch has been in use 24x7 connecting several point-of-sale systems to a server for the last 3 months without an issue.
  • Pros: Typical Cisco. Plug it in, connect it, and forget it even exists. It just works.
  • Cons: None noted.

Does not work with Comcast

Tom H., Newegg
24 February 2013
  • Pros: Looks better then most Ethernet Switches
  • Cons: I've had a cheap Ethernet switch that worked with Comcast because it doesn't try to assign new IP addresses for each ethernet outlet. Comcast has a restriction for only one IP address, this might apply to other internet service providers.

Joseph C., Newegg

  • Pros: It worked on arrival
  • Cons: Only the first 4 ports are PoE. The other 4 are basic ethernet. It doesn't say this anywhere on the description.

10 September 2012
  • Pros: The Price was perfect and after the discount on that weekend I only paid $60. It works just as good if not better than any one I've purchased for $300
