Summary: The photo is of an old model. I really wanted a unit that had the connections on the back and lights on the front. Like most switches, this one had the connections on the front. No problem with performance.
Summary: Lasted about 3 years then died. No LEDs no nothing. Decided to step-up to Netgear managed switches. I immedeadely noticed the bottle-neck in my network was this POS. I guess you get what you pay for.
Summary: I have it at home, in my Gigabit network and I can feel the speed when transferring big files not only between pc's connected to this switch directly but also through others connected to gigabit router's port. I personally have not tested transferring more than one file at a time on different computers to test it's real throughput, but this switch is perfect for my gigabit home network.
Summary: Received the item on January 3, 2014 opened it and it was "Dead on Arival" What happened to quality control? Sent it back on January 6, 2014 with a note requesting a quick turn-a-round since my business needed the item. As of today Jaunuary 12, 2014 I still am waiting. Needless to say I am not a happy camper.
Summary: I was sent the wrong item. On closer inspection, the title of the product differs from some of the produce info below. Get your stuff together, Platinum Micro, Inc. DO NOT buy this item if you expect to get the item in the description or the picture. I will likely have to pay for return shipping as well.
Summary: have had for over 2 years and works great. My last Dlink didn't last a year, the cisco small business switch is still going strong. It is on the pricey end but has a lifetime warranty and cisco offers its buy back program with this item. Overall highly recommend if you need a good strong attractive switch.
Summary: I purchased these for a project wiring 3 building together at a church. I am using them to connect all of the equipment in each building to the network (including wireless access points in each building). The switches have performed flawlessly for the last year. Each of the switches has had excellent throughput and mounting them on the wall has been a plus. The only gripe is that one of the power supplies arrived DOA in the box.
Summary: First of all I did get a Cisco hub - but guys it id absolutely different from what you see in the image not at all as sleek - all the ports are showing on the front side. Though the use is what it is meant for - I mean what I have recently observed is that many Cisco product range is just too confusing for the lay man - unless you do a lot of R&D.
