Easy setup, nice familiar RV GUI that responds faster ...

Michael O., Amazon
13 October 2014
  • Summary: Easy setup, nice familiar RV GUI that responds faster than other Cisco RV's I've programmed. 3 site, spoke, IPsec - VPN with 2 Cisco Pix's setup and running in minutes. Briefly tested Wireless in large concrete and metal building and was impressed with signal strength (65-70) on other side of concrete wall in warehouse. Not great signal but didn't really expect it to penetrate and provide access their anyway. Small business with 6 PC's and a few BYOD users.

  • Summary: The configuration was easy as long as you understand the higher end logic of Cisco firewalls. If you are looking for a home router move on.......or contact your family geek.

Slow and unreliable

T R, Amazon
10 September 2014
  • Summary: Pro: Lots of features and controls. Con: Features don't work well. There's no command line to use more obscure features. Log error messages are plentiful but almost useless. This device is the representative of Worse Than Failure. The wireless is quite flaky. But it doesn't die abruptly; instead, it simply fails to connect new clients. Randomly.

Early firmware was glitchy, new firmware better

Power Surfer, NJ, Amazon
10 September 2014
  • Summary: Bought this in July 2011 to add basic VPN. After six months, I would not recommend this and am looking to switch to a different firewall/router from another brand. Before buying, I read the smallnetbuilder review and was impressed with the throughput and the apparent value this unit allegedly offered. My experience with Linksys Home routers has generally been good. However, in use, the RV220W is a disappointment.

Sadly I have to I admit I lost my time and money with this router

  • Summary: I'd like to share the issues I had with this router - it might help other prospective buyers to decide. I bought this router in 2011 in order to replace my old DLink, hoping that a "small business router" will perform better ... I've updated with latest firmware (latest version is 1.0.4.17, released more than one year ago). The main issue with its web pages is the slowness. Big slowness on access / change anything in these Web pages.

Perfect for a small business environment

Tampa Misfit, B&H Photo
24 July 2014
  • Excerpt: Use as your broadband Internet router and firewall with integrated wireless support. Features One-to-One NAT (network address translation), port-forwarding and up-to-date security protocols. We upgraded to this device to take advantage of the newer, high bandwidths (speeds) and it tested perfectly.
  • Pros: Easy To Set Up, Fast, Reliable, Small

Nice Unit

7 July 2014
  • Excerpt: Easy to setup quickly and get them going. It has many features that aren't easy to figure out without finding help online, but its a nice unit and I was able to get a small office up and running with VPN in one evening.
  • Pros: Easy To Set Up
