ABC - Always Buy Cisco

Robert R., Newegg
18 November 2013
  • Summary: I really wish you could comment on other's reviews. The 891 is a fantastic router. I am not sure you can rate yourself a high tech level if you are upset that a CISCO device has a lacking GUI. You are buying a high end Cisco router, not an off the shelf Netgear.
  • Pros: Rock solid, stable routing platform, and a robust feature set. I have not had to reboot this thing in over a year. With optional PoE, it make this a no brainer for small offices.
  • Cons: Only fastethernet on the LAN ports.. :(

incorrect specifications listed

Daniel M., Newegg
17 November 2012
  • Summary: Normally I purchase via NewEgg, but this item was purchased via alternate channel due to pricing. The specs on NewEgg indicate the LANs are 10/100/1000 ports, but they are actually 10/100.
  • Pros: Rock Solid router reputation. Purchased to upgrade an existing 1811W Security router which has been absolutely a ROCK SOLID Performer. FAST, Secure, Highly Capable integrated firewall.
  • Cons: Incorrect LAN specifications listed. The 8 LAN ports are actually FAST Ethernet (100Mbps) NOT GIG Ethernet (1000 Mbps). Returning because I can't justify crippling the internal inter-segment routing from 1000 to 100 Mbps.
