Summary: Bought a new Belkin F7D8302 Play N600 Wireless Dual-Band N Router. Following the instructions I ran the CD and at the end of the setup the screen said "please give Belkin a call, and we can give you a hand". The phone number was in large print and there was a button on the bottom that said try again. I called for help and was told that I would have to pay $20.00 for support or I could go to their website for help. Ah...
Summary: POS sent it back got full refund, Belkin only wants to make more money, recording at beginning of phone call said I had 6 mos of FREE tech support, but they wouldn't even troubleshoot it without me paying $79.99 for a 2-yr contract! the router was junk rite out of the box and wouldn't work after several hours of adjusting settings and resets....will NEVER buy another Belkin product...if I could give it no stars I would...
Summary: I bought this product to replace my existing router. I didn't learn until after I received the product that support for product no longer existed. If I wanted tech support, it would cost $100, more than the cost of the router. Of course, router didn't work. I returned the product, but it was a pain in the butt.
Summary: I am a network technician and the only thing that gave me gratification is when I SMASHED this POS router with a hammer and replaced it with a router that was half the cost. I enjoyed smashing this crappy router because it would drop wireless, it would drop the internet, it would never reconnect unless i sat there for 20 minutes holding its hand. All I can say is if you want a router that sucks that you can smash, this is your router.
Excerpt: We were told that it was easy to install...just hook it up and it would be ready. Not so....after having our internet provider here for over an hour we gave up and took it back for a full refund.
Excerpt: The instructions for this wireless router were pathetic. I opened the box and I saw numbers '2' and '3' on the cables for making the necessary connections. There was no step '1', which I guess was opening the box! There was no mention as to which cable had to be hooked up to your computer. Good thing I already knew how the router, modem, and computer had to be connected! The stupid CD-Rom never would install the software properly.
Excerpt: Not compatible with HP products, 10 years old other router works better than this new router from Belkin. Even after talking to tech. support did not work for HP wireless printer and got to work for HP lap top with lot of inconvenience. Would never buy Belkin router unless they ensure thorough evaluation of their product to be completely compatible with all major brand computers, printers, phones etc.
Excerpt: I'm the office manager for a small non-profit agency in Brandon, FL servicing adoptive and foster families. A couple of weekends back we had a power surge from a Sunday evening lightning storm that knocked out a bunch of stuff in our Center. I came into work Monday morning to a dead phone line, no internet, dead printer/fax/scanner, and a confused security system. Brighthouse Communications came to replace the modem.
Cons: Complicated Set Up, Difficult To Set Up, Dropped Signal, Unreliable connection
