Summary: Truly this router has an excellent internet menu, but the hard that it is to configure, and the close range I achieve with it drop his qualities alot. It is fast but very close range like 200 sqft, so If you want a long range router buy another one... But if you need a fAST close range buy this one.
Summary: Bought this router since I am moving to a new place. Previous routers are Linksys or 3com. So time to try Belkin. Initial impression, looks are impressing. Setting up is easy. There are some problems that I encountered i.e. losing connection, etc, but after research the internet, things can be solved by upgrading the firmware to the latest one. Now, I am happy with the Belkin N1. So if you have problem with your Belkin, try this: 1.
Summary: I have mixed experiences with this product. The first one I got failed after only a few months, but they did replace it for me. I am able to wirelessly (using 300mpbs N speed) to watch Netflix steaming videos from their site without any buffering. I used the Belkin N PCMCIA card in an older laptop and it worked great. It also worked great in my friends newer laptop using my router. All of the other features do what I want as far as security and networking.
Summary: Outstanding Router were it not for some wireless glitches. I now share my wireless network with my inlaws 3 houses away (though clear line of sight). Took a long time to sort out why I couldn't maintain a wireless connection even within my house though...and I note some people think the wireless does not even work. A review of the product at "Tom's Hardware" website finally pointed me to the problem.
Summary: With the Pre-N now being less expensive than the newly released N models, it is a great deal. I did a lot of research before making my purchase and was all set to purchase the N model, but read many reviews stating that it had some problems, so I decided to backtrack to an earlier technology. It works just fine, very quickly, even on my older notebook. Works well even being situated in the same spot as my cable box, HDTV, Cable phone, etc.
Summary: The router works fairly well and is simple almost to a fault. The flashing lights on the face of the machine have nice little icons instead of tiny little green lights with text written beneith them. However, the router does lack a few features such as QoS and the ability to write in long ISP host names. This is irritating if you're sharing the connection with a few people and would like to priorative certain types of content.
Summary: Connection setup: Belkin PreN Router Belkin Pren Notebook card In the beginning, I had Linksys WRT54G router AND Hawking Model: HAI6SIP / HAI6SIA Hi Gain 6dBi Antenna. I was still getting drops at 20 paces as the crow flies thru a few walls etc. I swapped it out for a Netgear WGT624. Signal strength was about 5 db stonger according to NetStumbler on the Netgear so Linksys went into storage.
