Pros: N Technology....Dual Antennas... It powered on?
Cons: This router absolutely refuses to let me change anything. Let me be more specific. After 3 months of having this router, it choked. It powers on, and defaults. When I try to change the SSID, and the pw, it then freezes, nothing but cell phones can access the internet through it. When I default it, (reset with button) it defaults back to factory, then works fine. As soon as I change anything, it locks up again. It's ridiculous. I can't get ANY support unless I BUY it, ...
Summary: I bought the Belkin F5D8236-4 Wireless router for a friend who wanted to set up a home network. My husband and I have the same router which we bought about 4 years ago new. We paid something close do $90 then at one of the big electronics stores. This one from eBay was perfect. It had cables and instructions, etc. We've never had any trouble with ours and now my friend is having no trouble with hers. Did not have any scratches or dings.
Summary: I received this device to replace an 5 year old no more working device. I thought I just unplug the old one and plug in the new and everything should be a go. No ! After a rather complicated configuration procedure I did get the unit working. Repeatedly after about 24 to 48 hours (it varies) the unit stops working, the red modem indicator starts blinking. Only pressing the factory reset button will get the unit back online again.
Summary: Thought it would have much better range...but it didn't. The previous router from DSL company actually had better range and it was free. Thought this would allow at least three bars outside the house in yard which cant be more than 50 feet from router through 2 flimsy walls, that is why I bought it because of 400 foot distance..not even close, but other wise for close range it works good.
Summary: just pony up and buy a nicer router, this one is old anyways
Pros: easy set up, status lights on the front make it incredibly easy to troubleshoot
Cons: drops connections all the time, constantly needs reset, can handle streaming one HD movie or playing one game online but if more than one thing tries to use the connection this thing just folds and lags out
Serious Security Flaw - Would not recommend nor Buy

Summary: bought this to replace a nearly 7 year old wireless G router because it seemed to have a good mix of features for the price. While it did achieve wireless speeds about 15% faster than the old wireless G product, it's range was far worse. If that were its only problem I would have been ok with it.
