Excerpt: This is a really good router from ASUS. It's simple to use and can be setup in less than 15 minutes. I used this for my college dorm and it really helped me a lot. This router would put out 2 signals of wi-fi that would be for public and personal use. You can customize to do that if you...

Summary: If you are looking for a robust, speedy, and feature-rich router which doesn't cost a lot, this is it. I use two of these, one for home and one for a church network I manage. I use the one on the church network to run DHCP for over 100 devices as well as run an FTP drive, 10 other access points and switches, and 3 network printers. It gives me all of the control and visibility I need to manage my network.
Summary: I hope that this router never dies. It's been going strong for a year and a half for me, and I've never had to manually reset it. This was a frequent issue with my previous Linksys wireless router.
Pros: Quick setup
Cons: English translation in the setup menu is a little awkward at time, but still manageable. I haven't updated the firmware since the first set up, so I don't know if (any) updates have fixed this or not.
Summary: I have had this router for nearly a year and so far have been quite satisfied with it. Wifi speeds are excellent, with few dropped connections. USB ports for network storage is a nice feature too. Easy to set up, took less than 10 minutes. The stock firmware is not so great though. Once I put custom firmware on it I had no trouble whatsoever. Overall, well worth the price for a quality router.
Pros: Fast, reliable LAN speeds, good wireless coverage. USB ports for external storage
Summary: As a previous user mentioned, it's best to use custom firmware for this router. I had alot of disconnect issues until i switched to the custom firmware. issue solved and it now works great. The speeds on 5 G are as fast as a wired connection.
Summary: Asus has to be one of my favorite brands. That coupled with the spectacular review on smallnetbuilder and the decent price tag made this an easy choice. Let me first say that the Asus firmware for the router has issues. Don't use it. Instead, google "RT-N56U Custom Firmware" and download the latest firmware from the google code website. That firmware will make the router more stable, faster, and broadcast a stronger signal.
Summary: Very easy setup on this router. It walks you through it with a nice UI. Asus has really made wireless networking easy enough that most people can do it themselves. The connection on this router is rock solid and has great coverage to even the furthest corners of my home.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Fast, Fast Connection Speed, Reliable connection
