Excerpt: It worked fine out of the box, was easy to setup, range and speed are fine. However, in the last month we have had 3 power outages and every time the N 65 has lost all settings. Not a big deal if I am home but 2 of the three times I was out of town and my non-techie family had to go through...
Summary: Setup wasn't quite as plug and play as the box suggested. I had to go online and find additional setup troubleshooting help but once I found it all was well. We have an old house with thick walls. WAY better speed reliability and reach than we were getting with the Comcast wireless router.
Summary: Wifi is fast but the range is less than stellar. Has trouble, standing on it's own when cables and wires attached to it. Connectivity and set up was easy and straight forward. 5g is extremely weak.
Summary: Close to when I got it, I decided to update the firmware to the latest (1.0,1.8n). With this firmware I lost connection on the wireless a few times over a few days so I reverted back to what I got from the factory (220.127.116.11f) which seems better. I haven't had many issues at all, but this has cropped up: - Using an external drive as a network drive has been used a couple times, but was flaky one time. Possibly a user error, didn't do further testing to be sure.
Pros: Works, More range than my old g router, Good GUI
Cons: not all the firmware works well (keeps the wireless connection alive)
