Asus RT-N56U Dual-band Wireless Router Review

11 May 2011
  • Excerpt: We don’t much care what our routers look like, because they’re usually hidden inside a closet (unless we’re benchmarking them). But Asus’s engineers lavished as much attention on the RT-N56U’s skin as they did its guts: This dual-band router is a looker, and it’s also pretty damned fast. The RT-N56U is nicknamed “Black Diamond” for its embossed, shiny black plastic housing. In addition to speed, it delivers excellent range and a good collection of features.
  • Pros: Great long-range performance on the 2.4GHz band; dual USB ports; very good GUI.
  • Cons: No guest network; meh short-range performance on the 2.4GHz band.

ASUS RT-N56U review: One of the best looking dual-band wireless routers you will ever see

Good Gear Guide.au
11 October 2011
  • Summary: The ASUS RT-N56U takes router styling to a whole new level. It's slim and (we think) good looking; most importantly, it has plenty of features and performs very well. Its simultaneous dual-band Wi-Fi worked well in our tests and produced fast speeds, especially from close range. We do wish the router's Web interface was faster and a little better laid out, but you quickly get used to it.
  • Pros: Simultaneous dual-band Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet, USB storage ports, printer sharing, good wireless speed
  • Cons: Web interface a little slow and takes time to get used to, power adapter is flimsy

Kiiltävää kuorta

16 September 2011
