  • Port Forwarding Does Not Work

I tried setting up in Port Triggers, no go. Set up in Virtual Server, no go. Set up in Both Port Triggers and Virtual Server, still no go. Can anyone give detailed settings for, say, Remote Desktop port 3389 to get into my Windows 7 Pro 64bit PC (ip 192.168.1.18) behind this router. My existing Linksys works very well but I am hoping this Asus will work better. Thanks in advance.

    Answered by keywester 2010-08-13:

Firmware 1.0.1.4 broke it. Need to downgrade to Firmware 1.0.1.2 until Asus fixes it and release the next FW update.

    Answered by jacobchiong 2010-08-14:

I read that thread and tried the 1.0.1.2 but still no good. I bought this box because of its claim on the 300k sessions for p2p downloading. I have used and still use D-Link, Linksys, Belkin, etc., and they are all very easy to set up to work with port forwarding. But this Asus just refused to budge. This is my second Asus router that is being used as a dumb hub/bridge. Never will I ever buy Asus routers
