Excerpt: This is my second ASUS router and they both were very easy to install and provide unbelievable range. I have a three-story house and the route is on the 3rd floor. The first level gets very good coverage as do my connections on my deck more than 75' away. I would buy another one.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Fast, Fast Connection Speed, Reliable connection, Secure Connection
Excerpt: this is feed back on the support you get...why would the put paying customers through the hell of long waits on the phone, getting dropped off the call while waiting repeatedly...and then getting someone who knows less about the product then i do....i have read reviews on top of reviews and the one thing that Stands Out as a Red Flag is ASUS Support will and is a backside to deal with.Sure you will get products that break down and have to be replaced...
Excerpt: All you need in a router and more. AC connection speed, has allot of features that you may require in the future, has remote access for storage, a very reliable router, gigabit wired connection, USB3 for fast connection storage and a USB2 to use as printer port. Allot of advanced settings that you might not use as normal usage, accellent WIFI coverage by using WIFI radar targeting.
Cons: a bit complicated if you get into the advanced features
Summary: Owned since Nov 2013. This baby has been fantastic. Zero issues with dropped signals. Only time a reboot happens - during firmware update (Merlin only). I have a 3 story 4300 sq house. Awesome signal strength everywhere. I am running about 20 clients on both 2.4 and 5 Ghz. Both bands have great performance. The GUI is clean and user friendly.
Pros: Speed, looks, range, NAS, great GUI, extremely stable, ability to turn off LED lights
Summary: had a sudden issue with strangely slow wireless performance while having made no config changes, upon contacting support, going thru testing with hardwired side of the router and that being normal they did not offer ANY wireless diagnostics but to lead to a for pay service to "analyze" the wireless config to correct what "I did wrong".. I wound up just replacing the unit with a different brand.
Pros: highly configurable
Cons: if you have a problem with wifi support says it's your fault and they will help, for a fee..
Excerpt: I had a older Linksys N router, and had dead spots all over my house. I would be 20 feet from the router and not have signal. If I was in a different room from the actual router, my connection speed dropped off significantly. With the Asus, I get connection all over my house, including the basement and the outside deck. No more dead spots. Download speeds are as fast as if we were hardwired. I am very happy with the performance of this router.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Fast, Fast Connection Speed, Reliable connection
Summary: I'm very happy with it. I have all features that I need. It is really fast. Even though I have 105mbps, I get 120mbps! I'm currently testing OpenVPN services. Download speed will be decreased, but I'm very happy so far, and I don't have any issues yet.
Pros: Works great with 2.4 GHz and 5GHz. It has great features. It has great coverage. Easy install.
Excerpt: This router can do anything you want it to do, out-of-the-box. Plug it in, set it up, upgrade to latest FW and enjoy fast and reliable connection : ) 5GHz band is amazing - now I can stream 20+GB mkv FullHD video over the air from any DLNA device in my home to any, all smooth.
Pros: Alternative Firmware, Built-in Downloader, Built-in Private Cloud, Easy To Set Up, Fast, Fast Connection Speed, Reliable connection, Secure Connection
Cons: Fw Upgrades Step By Step, Torrent Starts With Delay
