Won't stream Netflix consistently and ASUS doesn't seem to know how to fix it!!

Lawrence R. Stevens, Amazon
7 March 2015
  • Summary: First off, I really wanted this router to work for us. It has great options and is very configurable. I also am not a novice in this area. One of the main uses in our household for our network is streaming Netflix.

2, 4 Ghz does not work on the unit ...

Eric M. Weaver "Big Cheese", Amazon
5 February 2015
  • Summary: 2,4 Ghz does not work on the unit I purchased. Looking at other reviews, this appears to be a common problem. I returned the unit, and I will be unlikely to buy another ASUS router.

Should be so much better.

John, Amazon
24 December 2014
  • Summary: This device should be awesome, but suffers from a serious defect that causes the 2.4GHz band to be nearly useless. Out of the box, the 2.4GHz was unbelievable slow. Pings were in the 300+ms range to the router, and throughput was less that 0.5mb/s.

$100 of sleek black dissapointment

David Orsi, Amazon
30 October 2014
  • Summary: I had high hopes for this and all it did was let me down. Someone I know has an ASUS router and he loves it. Based on the number of 5-star reviews opted to disregard all of the 1-star reviews... that was a mistake. This router did exactly what the majority of the 1-star reviews claimed.

I am afraid that Asus has down something bad with their ac implementation

R. Reaves, Amazon
17 October 2014
  • Summary: Doesn't work well with Macs at all. Even if you think it works well with your Mac I would open up Wireshark and inspect the packets first. There are many lost packets and as a result many packets become duplicated.

Hardware is flawed, avoid at all costs!

LOLFWD, Amazon
29 September 2014
  • Summary: I purchased this router from a local retailer, but wanted to put one here to warn people NOT to buy this router. I loved the design of this router, it saves so much space! However that is where my love ends. I had nothing but problems with this router from the get go on the 2.4GHz band.

Worked solid for about a month.

Lawrence S. Sinanan "You get what you pay for", Amazon
22 June 2014
  • Summary: I was blown out of the water how fast this thing was. AC is a huge jump over N especially on 5GHz. Range is good (not great) as people make ASUS routers out to be but worked better than anything I had before.

Router fails after 1.5 months, multiple customer support channels fail to provide resolution

Kate, Amazon
21 June 2014
  • Summary: My router failed after 1.5 months: the power light kept blinking and it would not accept connections. I tried to reach customer support in multiple ways: Their online form would not populate a drop-down menu, and would not allow submission without a selection in that menu...in 2 different browsers.
