Summary: I have 2 of these. I had an 5 port gigabit switch from Trendnet. That switch died and took out corresponding port on my router and my PC. ....I hate to be one of those people that says "I will never buy _______ again!" but I never will buy Trendnet again. The first 8 port ASUS gigabit switch I bought has lasted 2 years now. So far so good.
Summary: Since I have become a fan of Asus hardware lately for my network figured I would add this for my new basement so I could hard wire everything from my home stereo into the switch and then plug that into the router. No issues just plugged in and works. Wish i could turn off the lights on the front but that is why they invented tape to cover those up!
Summary: I have purchased Asus since the 1990s when they only made mobos. Have enjoyed every Asus product that I have purchased. Typing this review on an Asus laptop. Anyway, the switch keeps the find tradition of quality. The green/red connection lights are nice touch. Although, mine stay red as I have them connected to other switches. I know, I know, but it works.
Summary: When you need a fast, inexpensive and reliable switch, Asus can deliver. From my experience, I think it is less than one in a hundred Asus devices that malfunctioned out of the box. Good price, good quality.
I had the 5 port, but I needed 7 so this one is perfect.

Summary: I had the ASUS 5-port... with VIP port connected to an ASUS 8-port... with VIP port, and then added some more internet devices to my video setup. I use the VIP port between 2 of these 8-ports now so all 14 devices get full bandwidth. I like the VIP port a lot, 5 stars!
