Summary: I bought this back in 2010 when I was traveling to Asia for work. It came in useful in both Shanghai and Bangkok - I was able to use a Huawei 3G modem (NOT included) with local SIM cards for data access.
Summary: A good mobile hotspot that will take different aircards. I probably should upgrade its firmware though. Good battery life. We use it in the car while traveling. Needs to be packaged with a 12v car/boat adapter The support from Aluratek is limited and they redirect you to the manufacturer, ZALiP...
Summary: I suspect the device itself is just fine. The problem is that the documentation is horrible. Earth to Aluratek: When you are producing a consumer device, you'll move more product if the consumer can actually figure out how to use it. Not everyone is a techno-whiz...
Quite versatile. Does what's it's supposed to... after you configure it

Summary: This is a quite neat product that does what it said it would do. The only difficulty was to configure it as the quick set-up instructions simply did not work. Had to download the manual, make a few attempts and eventually got it to work properly with encryption in an hour or so.
Summary: I own an Airport Extreme and an Airport Express. Set up was easy. Purchase the Aluratek for portability since it has an internal rechargeable battery that lasts about two hours. It was recommended by a fellow photographer in a review.
Summary: I'm not using this to create a wifi cellular hotspot. I'm using it only to convert an ethernet connection to wifi and it works well for this. Minimal lag (still a tiny bit) but it's nice to be able to connected to an ethernet only device via wifi...
Summary: I tried it with 2 different models of Huawei 3G modem, it works without the need to configure anything at all. The only thing I dislike, is USB port, when the modem is plugged in, the modem gets in the way.
Small protable and does exactly what it says a few small tweaks and this product will be Excellent

Summary: The Key selling feature of the Aluratek 3G Portable Wireless USB Cellular Router is the fact that it is battery operated and uses USB Modem connectivity to create a personal wireless network. What the features do not tell you that this surprising little device offers more than just that.
