Okay for basic internet if you don't have a 64-bit for the initial setup

  • Summary: If you have a PC with a x64 Vista operating system --> DO NOT get this. The drivers used to communicate with the modem/router during the set-up process work with just about everything else, except the 64-bit Vista OS. (Once the wireless is setup, this OS can use the wireless, however.) The installation 'buddy' for this product is available on the actiontec website. It does a decent job for internet speeds up to 7 and probably 12 Mbps.

This is not a very good router

  • Summary: If you can get some other modem/router, do. This one is hard to use, and the support is terrible.
  • Pros: DSL modem connectivity seems fine. It DOES provide a basic set of routing ability.
  • Cons: It simply requires too much effort to make offer any functionality beyond basic settings.
