Excellent Low-Mount, Lightweight Scope

abarbs07, opticsplanet.com
15 January 2014
  • Summary: I mounted this on a .270 Win Winchester Model 70 Featherweight with low RVF Leupold dual dovetail mounts. The fit is absolutely perfect and the scope looks like it is made for the rifle.
  • Pros: Warranty, aesthetics, low mounting
  • Cons: Comparatively expensive (you get what you pay for)

  • Summary: Once again, Leupold had exactly what I wanted in a scope. I put this on a Ruger #1 in .375 Ruger. It looks great and functions flawless, just like all my other Leupolds. They aren't the cheapest, but you really do get what you pay for.
  • Pros: Quality optics, Warranty, Dependability

Best Value Leupold VX-3 You Can Buy

abarbs07, opticsplanet.com
14 August 2013
  • Summary: Got the matte finish, non-customized. Mounted on a '13 Model 70 Featherweight .270. Fits the rifle as if it were made for it. Used Leupold low DD RVF mounts. Clarity is amazing, mounts lower than 40mm objective but is just as bright typically.
  • Pros: Fits lighter long guns, beautiful finish, excellent warranty
  • Cons: On the edge of being too expensive

Leupold VX 3 2.5X8 with CDS

Greg, opticsplanet.com
2 August 2013
  • Summary: This Leupold was bought for a compact rifle. The size of the scope compilments the size of the rifle. CDS is a great feature. You give ballistics for your gun cartridge combo, sight in at 100 yards and then can adjust range for spot on shooting.
  • Pros: Small size CDS
  • Cons: none
