Summary: Seriously, if you do anything with rice this will make you feel pretty functional. I mean yeah it costs more than the sauce pan that you already have but if you want to make your life easier then just get this. Sometimes, I'm realizing, it's ok to treat yourself to something extra. This is one of those things, along with their hot water boilers. Also bought myself some all new spices from Penzy's spices as well as an expensive chef knife from Shun.
Summary: This is my second Zojirushi rice cooker. The first one I had was the induction one in the 10 cup model. I just got this rice cooker today and it seems to be acceptable, I have my first batch of rice cooking as we speak. My complaint is with Amazon and the Warehouse Deals section. I ordered from Amazon's warehouse deals to save 60$.. the description said the item had been repackage but all items were there.
Summary: This is the best rice maker I've had. I have used two other brands before this. They made the rice which was ok on the top but it was always dry and/or burned at the bottom. This rice maker delivers perfect rice top to bottom every time. I have used many of the settings. No matter which setting, perfect rice. The cord is difficult to plug in. But I wouldn't consider using any other rice maker.
Summary: Had a cheap rice cooker for 3 years and decided to buy a new model. This rice cooker is perfect for 2 people and instructions are simple to follow. Easy to clean. "UMAMI" setting gives a special flavor(sweet and chewy). We like it though it takes half to one hour longer than the quick setting. It makes good porridge too. Recommend it for small family.
Summary: Worth every penny! The GABA rice function produces incredible rice. I actually purchased several high end rice cookers and tested them side by side before committing to this one. It takes longer to cook than most other rice cookers, but it's hard to describe how much better the rice is that it produces.
Summary: I've owned a 3 cup Zojirushi induction rice cooker for many years and found it to be quite efficient and reliable. I also enjoyed discovering the GABA setting which produces the lightest and fluffiest brown rice I've ever had, bar none. White rice has certainly been fine from this cooker but it's not been what I'd call entirely stellar. When I heard the buzz about the new Umami machines, then, I was clearly intrigued.
