Summary: I am Japanese/American, and have eaten steamed rice all my life. Have owned a rice cooker almost all of my adult years. This is my second Zojurishi cooker. Owning a Zojurishi is so way worth it. Why? It just plain cooks the rice as well as it can be made. I few years ago, I relocated to a far away local and eventually purchased a run of the mill rice cooker, and never liked it. Finally purchased another Zojurishi and now think I was silly for the time I did not have it.
Summary: This cooker works very well. The rice cooks perfectly and does not stick to the container making it very easy to clean. The main cooker is designed well. There is a small indention around the opening to collect the steam. Although it takes 45 minutes to cook the rice, it's well worth it.
Summary: This little machine makes just the right amount for the two of us with a little left over for snacking on later. We eat brown & wild rice mostly; it cooks perfectly every time, keeps it warm & delicious for the duration of a meal & even much longer. I haven't tried any of the other cooking options yet (white rice, porridge). It's also a snap to clean. Bonus: looks great on the counter, matches my other stainless appliances!
Summary: I love my zojirushi rice cooker. I use it every morning to make quinoa and buckwheat. You can either use a long or short cook cycle. It makes wonderful rice and is so very easy to use. It plays a fun little tune when you hit the start button and when to cycle is complete. Also, it is very easy to clean.
A must have for every kitchen!
Summary: It is so nice to make perfect rice and quinoa every time, and have it done when you want it. We cook whole grains more often because of it.
Before purchasing I was a bit concerned from some other testimonials about the unclear directions but they were not that bad. The problem, if there is one, is that the manual shows the process a couple of times, one with the timer and one without the timer. Read the directions and you will do fine.
Summary: I don't have an elaborate story or clever review, but I do want to say that this rice cooker is awesome. the size is perfect, even for 5-6 people, the rice comes out fluffy and wonderful all the time, and the timed cooker works really well. I lost the little cup it came with and now only eyeball it, but it still comes out right. The cooker is really easy to use and keeps time better than anything else I own.
Summary: I never really thought of myself as someone who made rice a lot, but I always hated making it on the stove. I looked into a few rice cookers on amazon and saw they were all pretty poorly reviewed, except this one. This is the best appliance I have ever purchased, bar none. It makes it so easy to get restaurant-quality rice in about 30-45 minutes (depending on if you use the "quick" setting or not), and rice becomes a variable that you don't need to worry about while...
Summary: I have eaten rice all my life. This rice cooker is great for 1-2 people, and does not leak or dry the rice out. I always have rice going for any time or day I want to have some. I highly recommend this product.
Zojirushi NS-VGC05 Micom 3-Cup Electric Rice Cooker and Warmer
noppenoppe "noppe", Amazon
25 May 2009
Summary: Nice and compact. Too much water dripping from rid and you need to wipe it every time you open the warmer. Older version of rice cooker/warmer had little cup outside to receive warter but this one deposit warter around rim. Wish it had better way to receive escaped warter.
